Confucius Institute in Hungary hosts Spring Festival celebrations

The Confucius Institute at Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary held a New Year's party to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival on January 20, 2023. Local staff gathered at the event to enjoy Chinese New Year celebrations with all teachers from China at the Confucius Institute.

During the event, guests were treated to a number of fun activities including singsing and dancing revolving around the Chinese New Year.

Hudecz Ferenc, vice president of Hungarian Academy of Sciences and former president of Eotvos Lorand University, said the time had witnessed the strong bonds of friendship and solidarity between Hungary and China. Adding that a growing number of Hungarians are willing to learn about Chinese, he believed that the friendship between Hungary and China will be enhanced year by year.

Dr. Hamar Imre, vice president of Eotvos Lorand University and Hungarian director of the Confucius Institute, extended Chinese New Year's greetings to all working staff of the Confucius Institute, appreciating them for their efforts during the past year and wishing them happiness and success in all their endeavors in the New Year.

Li Denggui, Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at Eotvos Lorand University, thanked the Eotvos Lorand University for continued collaboration and support on the development of Confucius Institute. He said that together with the all the staff, the Confucius Institute will feature good performance and continued success in the years to come.
